AVE combines a Mac-native non-linear editor with Ask and Plan modes. AI can understand imported assets, transcripts, visual notes, clip metadata, and timeline context. Supported edit requests can become timeline changes such as sequence creation, clip extraction, trimming, splitting, transitions, captions, styling, gap closing, and export preparation.

Privacy and execution:
Project files, imported media, local analysis, timeline editing, and exports stay on the user's Mac by default. External assistants, custom API endpoints, and BYO generation providers are optional user choices.
